Freiberger / The General Meeting of FNF Breeders
SAIGNELÉGIER – Report
Muriel Willi,
────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Even though, after three hours, the patience of Andreas Aebi and several delegates was slowly wearing thin, things got exciting again towards the end. For instance, when Christian Stricker from the FOAG justified the cuts to studbook fees and told those present that horse breeders still had the best of both worlds. Or when Bernard Beuret presented the ‘Equicea’ project, which, with a budget of 12 million Swiss francs, envisages the construction of a ‘Maison du Cheval’ in a newly built hall on the grounds of the Marché-concours.

The presence of Christian Stricker, the man in charge of
in Switzerland, clearly gave him personal pleasure,
as a guest at the General Assembly, to justify to the participants the cut in federal subsidies for the last remaining Swiss thoroughbred breeding
organisation. Even more presumptuous is the audacity with which Mr Stricker, as a horse breeder, still claims to have his cake and eat it too.
